Thank you for a wonderful weekend in Paris. We stayed on the 7th floor at the Royal Fromentin and our room had amazing views both of Sacre Coeur and Montmartre to one side and also the whole ofParis including the Eiffel Tower to the other! Great location, lovely bar (and Absinthe) and friendly helpful staff.

I stayed at the Royal Fromentin for 2 nights in December. It was only a minute walk to the Moulin Rouge, or if you wanted to head into Montmarte it was a 5 minute walk. If you headed in the other direction you got to the shopping district with 5 minutes as well. The hotel was very nice & clean & the room we stayed in on the 5th floor had a balcony with a great view of Sacre Coeur. Besides that I had a great time - the staff were nice & helped us book a great sight seeing tour, so I've got no complaints & would definately stay there again.

My friend and I have just returned from Paris and we stayed at the Royal Fromentin for a week. It is a charming,Parisian hotel, very clean the staff was most friendly and helpful. The area is interesting and very lively, area the hotel is just a few steps from the Metro which is great for women travelling alone. It is 1 block from Montmartre . We would certainly go back to this hotel and recommend highly.

Good location for shopping at the large department stores (and very close to Moulin Rouge). Very clean, you could smell the freshly washed sheets when lying in bed. The breakfast was delicious with fresh brioche and croissants. Good value too and would definitely stay there again if visiting Paris for another shopping trip.

The hotel is a place of style in the already warm ‘Montmartre’ environment. Very nice and comfortable rooms, friendly staff, warm environment and a good ‘crackly’ breakfast. This was the ideal place to start our Parisian’s explorations in the morning and a ‘welcome home’ after a long day. If you want to relive the old and romantic Paris of the 1930’s, this is the place to be ! Thank you for a lovely weekend and all the best wishes for the future.

The clean and silent room provided good value for money for our stay - and that is not easy to find in Paris! With metro nearby the hotel is easily accessible and for sights you don't even have to go far as Moulin Rouge and Sacre Coeur are just around the corner (we could even see the church from our window). And don't miss the charming breakfast with fresh pain au chocolat and a cup of good, strong coffee. Merci beaucoup!

I stayed in this hotel 2 times and it was excellent:
- Rooms: I had a spacious and very clean room with a great view at the sacre coeur!
- Staff is very polite and breakfast is very good (some choice, some cereal, more than the usual continential breakfast).
- The reception and lobby are outstanding! It is beautiful, just like the pictures and you can enjoy a beverage any time of the day in the pleasant lobby: a former absinthbar. Very good ambiance.

I took my girlfriend for a couple of days in Paris and we found this hotel through the website. It had plenty of positive feedback and the price was reasonable. When we arrived at the hotel we found the hotel staff to be friendly and very helpful. We found our room to be compact but well laid out, clean and comfortable. The lift looks to be original to the building and is a real novelty (but still perfectly functional). The hotel is situated in a "colourful" area of Paris, metro stations are 2 minutes walk from the hotel and there are loads of places to eat in the locality. We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to someone who was looking for a nice hotel near the centre of paris for an economical price.

We spent 2 nights in Paris at the Hôtel Royal Fromentin : it was terrific! We had a room on the 5th floor at the back of the hotel with a surprisingly romantic view of the rooftops of Paris ! The room was very clean, beautifully decorated and very comfortable ... exactly than what we expected having looked at the website. We thought the staff was truly friendly and very helpful. But the highlight of our stay was discovering Absinthe in the hotel bar. We had read about this drink which was the favourite drink of Parisian artists at the end of the 19th century, but knew it had been outlawed at the time because it was so strong. Apparently now a harmless form of absinthe has reappeared in France and they serve it now at the hotel just the way it was served at the end of the 19th century. It was a true ritual with special water fountains equipped with tiny taps that release the ice water drop by drop into a glass upon which is placed a slotted spoon with a piece of sugar. What an unforgettable experience! The hotel is even in the process of publishing a book on the subject of absinthe in the area around the hotel and about the Don Juan Cabaret which is now a part of the hotel lobby. Van Gogh, Toulouse Lautrec and Baudelaire who lived in the neighbourhood and were drinkers of absinthe may well have drunk their absinthe in the very bar where we drank ours! Don't miss that experience when you stay at the Royal Fromentin!

Was unsure of what to expect after reading the reviews. Had booked the hotel from Australia, then read the reviews and thought, "oh dear". I travelled with my 8 y.o. daughter. We had a brilliant time. The view of Sacre Coeur was obviously a thrill, the room clean & comfortable, the staff as friendly and helpful as the reviews, breakfast - fantastic. My daughter was particularly taken with the friendly waitress who asked us every morning if we wanted coffee, tea or hot chocolate with our breakfast. Pigalle & Blanche are great metro stations, Moulin Rouge just around the corner, Sacre Cœur "just up the road", will stay there again without a doubt ...

We stayed at the Hotel Royal Fromentin for 2 nights. We booked 5 rooms which were all spacious and very well presented, the higher floors had fantastic views. The hotel was fantastic and exactly as pictures and description. The location was great with easy access to buses and a few minutes stroll from Sacre Coeur and Montmartre. The staff were very pleasant, professional and helpful with regard to sightseeing etc. A luggage room was very beneficial as our flight home was not until the Sunday evening so saved carrying round cases all day. I would have no hesitation in returning to this hotel were I to stay in Paris again, it was a typically Parisian style for a good price. We didn't use any other services although booking a transfer may have been a good idea although there was no problem getting taxis from the airport. A wonderful weekend!

I thought it was close to perfect. My girlfriend, Amber, who is from the Netherlands , made the reservations from Holland . With a two day package including transportation on the Thalys bullet train From Central Station to Paris . Our room was large, very clean, adequate tv, great service, and best of all, a fantastic view of the Sacre Couer, you could almost touch it. The location was ideal, centrally located, short walk to the metro, lots of diversity, just like here in the San Francisco Bay Area. If you're looking the stereotypical Paris neighbourhood described in many guidebooks, The Royal fromentin is for you. But if you're looking for a hotel located in a central area, with great things to do and easy access to all of Paris, and a great staff, then the Royal Fromentin is excellent. My first time, not her's, and a great time to go. Stay at the Royal Fromentin, great little hotel. Michael & Amber

I booked this hotel for my daughter to stay over her 21st birthday so I was a little worried that it would be less than good. As it turned out all my fears were unfounded. She stayed for 3 nights in a double room at the top of the building which afforded quite good views of the city. The room was clean, tidy and in good decorative order. The staff, on the shifts covered by her stay, were friendly and helpful. My daughter was very pleased with standard of accommodation and said that she would not hesitate to recommend and stay there again upon a return visit.

Relative to the many hotels we stayed at across Europ this place would have to one of the better 3 stars. The rooms were reasonable size and the one we stayed in (a double) was off the street. As the main street is reasonably busy. The location near Montmarte is brilliant, its also got surrounded by a head of trendy bars and cafes and interestign shops. On the weekend there is a great street market and you are also a stone's throw from Sacre Coeur and Moulin Rouge. My girlfiorend and I felt safe walking around at night as its such a busy, vibrant area.

This is the second time i have stayed at this hotel and I cant say enough good things about this hotel. I'm been to Paris a few times and we always expect the rooms to be small but in this hotel they are HUGE. I travelled with my husband, my sister & brother in law and order 2 double rooms. We actually had 2 doubled beds in both rooms with amazing views of the sacre coeur. They were very clean and made up everyday. The whole hotel is full of characture and very well done. Breakfast was lovely and so was the staff that served it. When you finished they would come back and offer you more. Everything was fresh and tasty. There is internet access in the hotel which is free, a big bonus as most hotel charge. Book this hotel, you wont be dissappointed.

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel in Paris. Our room (located on the 6th floor) gave us a fabulous view on Sacré-Coeur (and the busy street below but, that was worth it!!). The room was a lot bigger than other hotel rooms we previously had in Paris and the price was very good. The breakfast is plenty and the offer a very good service. The hotel is located near 2 metro station and a supermarket where we always bought sandwiches and drink for our lunch, that we ate on a bench park under the sun!

This time I've visited the "ville lumière". I've to say that due to the destination, I've booked the hotel at the end of November for a 5 days visit at beginning of March and in his way I've spared a lot of money. From the airport of Charles de Gaulle you have to take RER up to Gare du Nord and than line 2 of the metro. You stop at Blanche. I suggest you this exit (there's also Pigalle station near the hotel) because the first think you see when you go out is Moulin Rouge! It's very beautiful and you feel immediatelly in Paris! More than that Montmartre and the Sacre Coeur are 800 meters far! In front of this Metro station there is a supermarket Monoprix, perfect to spare some money buying water and drinks that are so expensive in Paris! The hotel is 200 meters far, not very big. At the base floor there is the reception, a small internet point and the breakfast room. Our bedroom was on the top floor, the 7th, with a great view of Paris roofs. To go up a very small and beautiful elevator! Room was big, even too much and breakfast was good and abundant !

There is 2 supermarkets near the hotel, if you want fancy good food, and great wine. Have stayed at Royal Fromentin during a short business trip. Although I liked the hotel website, I was a little worried about the surroundings of the hotel - the close location to Moulin Rouge means many bars open until late night. Despite all that, I did not feel insecure even around 1:00 am when returning to the hotel after a late dinner. The double bed in my room was very comfortable and I liked very much the renovated traditional lift and the breakfast room, which once used to be a cabaret. We would definitely visit again.

They loved the hotel, and I loved that it all felt safe (even though that is a pretty lively area of Paris, I've learned) and so accessible to the metro, shops, places to eat, and it all just felt so Parisian ! -- which is what they wanted to experience. The room was charming - had a small bedroom that they used to stash their bags, and then a larger room where they slept - all very charming !

We booked four nights at Hotel Royal Fromentin over the Internet, and based out choice on the hotel website. We were not disappointed. We found that the area is quite safe and there is no problem walking in the area at night. The hotel staff are friendly and very helpful. The front desk staff are particularly pleasant - with special thanks to Nurtin and Jack for all their lively conversation and humour, whether it was late at night or early in the morning. We found our room a little small, but for the price, in such a central location, it was extremely good value. When we asked for extra pillows, they were quickly and willingly supplied. The bed was very comfortable, and although small, the room was well-supplied with hangers in the wardrobe, a full length mirror, space for suitcases and a desk with chair. The entire hotel is spotlessly clean and the decor takes one straight back to 1930s Paris, with Art Deco windows in the stairways, and a wonderful old lift (elevator) straight out of the old classic movies. The lounge, with bar, is a restful and pleasant place to sit, and again evokes a 1930s atmosphere. The adjoining breakfast room is also pleasant, and the breakfasts are generous, with a choice of cereals, a good range of teas, excellent coffee, a large basket of croissants, crisp rolls, pains au chocolat and brioches, along with cheese, chocolate spread and a wide choice of preserves. All in all, if you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel, close to several Metro lines, and a fiveminute walk from the bistros of Montmartre, this hotel would be an excellent choice.

We just stayed at your hotel during Easter. We had booked the family room on the 1st floor, which was quite spacious, charmingly furnished and very clean. The beds were fairly good, so was the bathroom. Nice hot and strong shower. Our 2 teenage children simply loved the hotel's beautiful elevator! Your staff was friendly. Breakfast was more than reasonable for Parisian standards. Brioches, pains chocolat or croissants and hard rolls with jam. Coffee, tea or hot chocolate as well as orange juice. Even some cereals with milk available. The hotel atmosphere was good, quite picturesque and tasteful. Thanks to the reviews in this site. The good thing is that it is a vibrant area where you'll see lots of people out on the streets until late at night and food shops/restaurants open until late. From the hotel, its only a short walk (10 min.) uphill to Sacré Coeur. There are excellent metro connections to the hotel from Gare du Nord and other parts of town and the yellow Open Tour bus line gets to only about 100-200 metres from the hotel. Room rates aren't really cheap but this hotel is absolutely good value for money. We'll recommend your hotel to friends and relatives.
